Super Easy Crochet Coffee Cozy

Here is another crochet pattern that I wrote up that is super easy and really quick.

Needed:
-size US I / 5.5 mm crochet hook (or any size you need to get the right gauge, but this is what I am using)
-worsted weight yarn (I like redheart or lily sugar n' cream)
-tapestry needle (optional, just makes it easier to sew in the ends)
-scissors
-any appliques or buttons you'd like to attach to make it purty ;)   (also optional, obviously)

Abbreviations you should know:
sc = single crochet
ch = chain
slst = slip stitch
*ch1 is not a sc!

Gauge:
10 sc = 3 inches wide
4 rows = 1 inch high

ch 30
slst into the first ch to form a ring.
ch1. sc in each stitch around. slst into first sc.  [30 sc]
now repeat the last row 9 more times (more or less if you'd like a thicker or thinner cozy). You should have 10 rows of single crochet.
Finish off the work and sew in the tails.

Sew on the buttons/appliques/whatever and voila! you just finished the cozy!

You could also do it replacing the single crochet with half double crochet just do fewer rows. Double crochet is looser so it doesn't hold as well.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
This should fit most coffee cups (Starbucks, etc). If it doesn't, you may need to either change your hook size or add to your beginning chain.

Happy crocheting!

Lately

Sorry I've been so quite on here lately.
I had knee surgery recently and haven't really been doing much other than sitting in bed and watching tv.

I have made a few things, so I'll post pictures. ^_^

Happenings

Halloween is next month! I still don't know what I want to dress up as... My cousin and SIL have asked me to make a few things for their kids.

Top is rapunzel and bottom is cabbage patch/doll just have to add a few finishing touches, and they're done.

So these are a few things I've been working on. I would really like to get some stands for these things to take better pics.
Just thought I'd show what I'd been up to craft-wise since I've kind of neglected the blogosphere of late.

Please do check out etsy, facebook, instagram, or twitter and message if you have any comments or questions :)

Have a fantabulous day!
